- background to Africa

operation impact is a multilateral partnership between African Impact, Family Impact and African Christian Tours and Safaris.
operation impact is effective, community-based Christian aid. The venture will address the need for African projects to receive funding in the era of widespread donor fatigue. The operation will allow the developmental work and education needed across Africa to continue, if not increase, while offering personal adventures in Christian aid and encounters with the rugged glory of the continent for attendees. “You give little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.” Kahlil Gibran ‘The Prophet’
We are not far from the cradle of creation but the beauty and serenity of our savannah garden seems somehow a little East of Eden and we are now far from home. Yet there is a way back to Life and prosperity; there is a Life that is available to us all, a healing and a restoration; a rejuvenation, a rebuilding and a renewal. This rebirth of our fractured land is the work of the Lord “They will rebuild the ancient ruins, they will restore the former devastations… strangers will stand and feed your flocks, and foreigners will be your plowmen…” Isaiah 61:4, 5.
This operation will circumcise the hearts of volunteers and impact Africa in a profound way. The word ‘operation’ means action, it is a military term for incursion, raid, invasion; it whispers battle, hints at violence. It also speaks of healing, it promises restoration. “The kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing and forceful men lay hold of it.” Matt 11:12 The Lord has promised to give us Africa for His glory – the volunteers will come alongside efforts already underway and have the privilege of sharing in the advancement of the Kingdom through the majesty of servant hood across Africa. St Francis Assisi said “Preach the gospel at all times. If necessary, use words.”
The word ‘impact’ means to effect, to influence; it requires force, effort, exertion and strength. operation impact is the movement of the Spirit of God across Africa to effect the restoration of the continent.
